Here are some Cannabis quotes I have found over the years that I wanted to share with you. Here are some of my favorite ones.Lets look at some of the quotes from our Founding Fore Father George Washington stated “Make the most you can of the Indian hemp seed and sow it everywhere!” Perhaps George and Thomas would sit together in a session or two pondering life and politics from the back porch. Thomas Jefferson recounts “some of my finest hours have been spent on my back veranda, smoking hemp and observing as far as my eye can see.” John Adams probably sat in the circle with George and Thomas I would assume based on his views of the Hemp plant. “We should by and by, want a world full of hemp more for our own consumption” quoted by John Adams. Thomas Jefferson believed “Hemp is of first necessity to the wealth and protection of the Country!” I wish politicians today, believed as our Fore Father’s all those years ago, imagine the difference it would have made in the failed war on drugs. Lets look at some quotes about the prohibition.
These may not be as old as our Fore Fathers but are just as compelling. Sebastian Marincolo said “The legalization of marijuana is not a dangerous experiment- the prohibition is the experiment and it has failed dramatically with millions of victims all around the world.” I would have to agree with that statement. Carl Sagan said “The illegality of cannabis is outrageous, an impediment to full utilization of a drug which helps produce the serenity and insight, sensitivity and fellowship so desperately needed in this increasingly mad and dangerous world!” Lawrence Reed once stated “Marijuana has killed far fewer people than swimming pools; its the war against it that does all the violence!” Some more interesting cannabis quotes come from some of our favorite entertainers. Willie Nelson has been along time cannabis activist and enthusiast. Willie has always said what was on his mind “I think people need to be educated to the fact that marijuana is not a drug. Marijuana is a flower, God put it here, if he put it here and he wants it to grow, what gives the government the right to say that God is wrong.” Willie also believes “The biggest killer on the planet is stress and I still think the best medicine is and always has been cannabis!” Let us not forget the great Henry Ford who showed us there were many uses for hemp “Why use up the forests which were centuries in the making and the mines which required ages to lay down. If we can get the equivalent of forest and mineral products in the annual growth of the hemp fields!” Henry showed us the industrial strength of the hemp plant. I hope you enjoyed this fun read this week.
